Can you see me now?

Black cats and dogs are "invisible" in shelters, they are killed at far higher rates than pets of other colors. Please don't overlook me.

Insure Your Adopted Pet
PetFirstís 30-day pet insurance plan is an offer available to every dog and cat adopted from your organization, regardless of age. This program ensures the pets you adopt out are covered for accidents and illnesses once they leave your care. The 30-day pet insurance reimburses 100% of vet bills incurred during this time up to $500 per incident after a $50 deductible, which can be a safety net for a pet parent to be able to afford an unforeseen medical emergency, rather than making the tragic decision not to treat. Be sure to view the PetFirst Reference Guide for additional information and exclusions. +Read More

Cat Spotlight

Hello I am Sean
PET OF THE WEEK for 7/22/2014

Sean is a sweet, shy cat who will win your heart in a minute. He came to us feline leukemia positive from another rescue group when he was just a kitten. We are so grateful he made it through kitten hood and young adulthood. He is seven years old now and has been the picture of health until very recently.

On July 10, 2014, Sean collapsed and began crying out. He was rushed to the hospital and received two emergency blood transfusions. In addition to severe anemia we discovered he also has a very low platelet count (platelets are needed for blood to clot) and white blood cell count (white blood cells fight infection). This was very serious.
